Missing from the Menagerie

We’ve lost 3 furry members from the menagerie in the last 18 months. Each time my heart has broken.

Last week our youngest cat, Ollie, just didn’t come home one day. He fancied himself as a bit of a tiger and we think he may have taken on the wrong snake.

He left us as suddenly as he joined us. He walked into our home a bedraggled, scrawny stray and left us as a contented, much loved Puss-in-Boots look alike.  It gives me some comfort knowing that we were able to give him a quality life.

I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that he’s not coming home so today I’m dedicating my not-so Wordless Wednesday to this cheeky furball.

The day he walked into our house & decided to keep us.

He quickly became part of the furniture.

 He was a great playmate…
…who had to be the centre of everything

Ollie, you were much loved…

and will be very missed xx

My Little Drummer Boys

It’s sad. You’ve reminded me of one who ran away when we moved house years ago. She and her sister were like chalk n cheese. We called them Tina and Tike (a play on the Turners). Tina was the elegant long-haired with a long swish tail. Tike was the awkward, jumpy short-hair with a short kinky tail. Tina had a seductive miao. Tike used to purr till she choked. We loved them both but Tina just couldn’t adjust. Cats have their own personalities, don’t they, and place in the family. It’s so hard to say goodbye. Always. Sorry you’ve lost Ollie but you have some lovely pictures and memories to hold forever.

  2. So sorry for your loss, Nee x

  3. Ollie was adorable, and yes, didn’t he become part part of the furniture. I’m send you and your family a long-distance cuddle.

  4. So sorry to hear that, Nee. xx

  5. Oh I am sorry for your loss.

  6. Nee, I’m so sorry to hear your news. Thinking of you and the family. xx

  7. Oh Nee – I’m so sorry 😦 BIG HUG to you and the fam xxx
